Look! Mira! Walking Tour: Johnston Street

Saturday, October 7th at 1pm at the (New)burgh Porch, 15 S. Johnston Street, Newburgh.

RSVP recommended thefullertoncenter@gmail.com

This walking tour celebrates the under-recognized architectural, historical and social gems of Johnston Street. The tour will focus on the street’s progression and its beginnings as Newburgh’s first major housing development, fueled by a pressure to urbanize and create new urban corridors. Along our walk, we’ll stand before one of the oldest and most recently-restored buildings, and take in some building shells—all while exploring the social history and stories behind what we encounter. We’re looking to gather more contemporary histories, so if you have some, please share along the walk!

The tour was written by architectural historian Steven Baltsas and will be led by architect Anoushae Eirabie. All Look! Mira! Walking Tours are available on Urban Archive .

This event is co-sponsored by The Fullerton and Urban Archive and is presented as part of @archtober, NYC's annual architecture and design festival.
