Newburgh Arts + Cultural Study
Together with the City of Newburgh and the Newburgh Arts and Cultural Commission - a resident-led advisory group, we are pursuing the Newburgh Arts + Cultural Study—the city’s first survey to inventory and assess our diverse arts-and-culture ecology in Newburgh, NY.
Guided by a group of community-based advisors, we are gathering qualitative and quantitative data, creating an inventory of the broad range of arts-and-cultural activities and destinations in the city, conducting focus groups, and engaging residents from all neighborhoods and sectors.
A report of data, maps, and recommendations will establish a baseline that offers a rich and in-depth understanding of the city’s cultural assets, how people engage with them, and how they encourage economic, social, and cultural growth in Newburgh.
Through metrics and stories, this study shows how arts and culture currently play an important role in economic, social, and cultural sectors and how to nourish and grow that in our city and the Hudson Valley. The study is for and about all city residents.
