Volunteers & Interns
We are thrilled to work with curious and passionate volunteers & interns. Together we seek to impart a meaningful professional experience that builds a cultural institution in Newburgh.

Nate Lange, Ongoing. Having grown up in the Mid-Hudson, Nate Lange pursued a degree in Anthropology at Grinnell College in the Midwest (affording him the memory of excavating a pre-Columbian ruin in Northern Arizona), then returned to the Northeast where he worked in the semiconductor industry. After a brief foray into film, he returned to school to study Computer Science, which he was able to apply first at an automated microchip factory and then a consulting company in the banking industry in New York City. Nate has volunteered with Orange Literacy tutors and the Newburgh Historical Society; he enjoys spending time with his nieces and extended road trips. He is currently pursuing a degree in Urban Planning at Rutgers University while exploring new career paths.
Shaunjaney Bryan, Summer 2022. Shaunjaney served as the Summer 2022 Intern for The Fullerton, where she assisted with research and data entry for the Building Shells project. Shaunjaney is currently a senior at Brown University, where she is earning her B.A. in Psychology and Africana Studies. Outside of her academics, Shaunjaney participates in a capella, films Brown events, and is an active member of affinity groups. Following Brown, Shaunjaney aims to explore her interests in entertainment & film, collective healing and plans to earn her Masters in Social Work to pursue clinical work centering the healing of Black femmes. For the upcoming semester, Shaunjaney will be studying abroad at the University of West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados.
Del Williams, Fall 2018. Del was invaluable in helping us with project management and marketing of the Frederick Douglass project and initiating research on the history and context of his visit in 1870.
Sophia Grausso, Summer 2018. We are grateful for Sophia’s dedicated assistance — she immersed herself in marketing of the book exchange and community outreach.
Julie Striano, Spring 2018. A massive thanks to Julie who combined her incredible talents in storyboards and cartooning to animate the history of the Fullerton Mansion.
