CityMaking: Kavita Das

This Summer, The Fullerton will host a Citymaking Salon Series inviting authors and community stakeholders to participate in change-making dialogue. Topics were chosen based on a survey from members of Newburgh’s resident-led boards and commissions.

How can we as community members use the written word to address pressing social issues? On November 3rd, The Fullerton will host author Kavita Das, author of Craft and Conscience: How to Write About Social Issues. Kavita will lead the group in a book talk, discussion, and writing exercises about exploring our individual motivations for writing about social issues. This event will take place from 6pm to 8pm at Newburgh Art Supply.

This series is sponsored by Humanities New York. The series is co-organized by the Fullerton and Emily Dykeman, a local writer in Newburgh, NY.
