CityMaking: Steven Higashide
This Summer, The Fullerton will host a Citymaking Salon Series inviting six authors and community stakeholders to participate in change-making dialogue. Topics were chosen based on a survey from members of Newburgh’s resident-led boards and commissions.
Our first event will feature local author Steven Higashide, expert on urban transit and author of Better Buses, Better Cities. Steven’s work synthesizes the need for improved public transit with its effect on the environment, human rights, participation in democracy, and accessibility to jobs and healthcare. Discussion will be led by the Newburgh Transportation Advisory Committee.
Experience the practical everyday side of Newburgh bus transit–join TAC on a SouthSide bus route prior to the event. Meet at 5pm at Broadway and Liberty. For those participating, The Fullerton will subsidize the fare. RSVP to thefullertoncenter@gmail.com by Tuesday, June 21.
